Diverting a water-course so that a winged bull can pass without being
bogged down. Men are raising water from one level to another by
means of triangular buckets attached to a long beams; the beams are
weighted at the other end, and carefully balanced on central built-up
stands, so that the buckets will rise easily. This kind of water sweep is
still used in parts of the Middle East.
