That Idea was proposed near the end of the Lebanese civil war, the leaders of the Assyrian Militia made the proposal to the then Assyrian leaders, it was to form a secret Militia that today would have reached twenty thousand well trained, equipped and self funded mobile force. It was rejected point blank. They were told “it was none of their business, they are not Iraqis”.
