Nissan,

I have been reading your posts and I know that you and I are of the same belief on these issues.

I am a proud owner of a small library that contains books on the subjects that you referred. Like you, I decided to educate myself about this church long time ago. Like you, I come from a Catholic family, but I never practiced Catholicism. My grandfather on my mother side was a Tel Kepniah, born and raised in Tel Kepah and Baghdad. Like you I am familiar with the mentality of the Chaldeans toward us. Read page 827 of Gilgamish and you will see Rabbi Addi Alkhas mentions my relatives from Tel Kepheh in Ahwaz, Iran. The man that Rabbi Addi mentions as “Aziz George” was my mother’s uncle. I used to visit them when I lived in that state; therefore, I know their mentality very well.

I was fortunate to grow up in a city named Abadan and attend the Assyrian Church of the East. Nationalist spirit was instilled in me when I was growing up in Abadan. This spirit was nurtured by our Reverend and the teachers of the school where our church was located (Madrashta D Shoshan).

I giving this background so that those of you who do not know my background would understand that my passion for this church and nation is not something shallow that is subject to change by passage of time or by any incentive or force.

*** Do not despair. Look at the positive side of what is occurring to our church. We see nationalistic spirit of 450 families in San Jose that are fighting against enemies of this church and nation. We even have kind, intelligent, and true Christian Assyrians from other churches who have decided to help their ancestral church in this time of need. We will not forget their contribution to this church.

Keep writing Nissan about our cause and work as hard as you can for Assyria and this church. God is with us.
