Dear Shamiran, of course you asked perci and nissan to answer you that, and I am sure they will be able to give you a historical answer to your questions, but I just want to say a few things as to my believe why our nation and church has been under attack since Christ till now.
It all goes back to what Assyria has been portrayed as in the Old and New Testamonts, and moreover, what it says about Romans and Isralites.
If you look at the old Testamont and the new one, Assyrians have been glorified throughout the book yet Isralites have been condemned by their own book which they can not deny, for if they do that, that will end their faith, as well as their rights on their own land. so the Jelouscy started from Istralites to punish the Assyrians for they were the ones whom God chose as his right hand to punish the nations. As Christ came, the name of Isralite was taken away from them and was given to the believers of Christ. now that angers the fanatcis in the jewish religion, and because they (the Assyrians) were the first nation to accept Christ as the leader of their faith, the jewish targetted the Assyrians to destroy all their identity, as Christ said, "and when they saw the son, they said to themselves, let's kill him to claim the heritage to ourselves". Jewish people helped raise Islam so that it targets christians, at that time they did not care much about the growing christianity in eruope, and did not care about the forth beast (as seen by Daniel, which refers to the Roman Church) that will be forthcoming and will be talking the words of Christ yet thinking that he is Christ (God).
After Christianity started growing in Europe, afther Constantine the Great, the christian there had a relief from the massacres, but we must also remmember, that as Christianity was growin in europe, it could not get rid of all the herecies at once, for it grew with them, so some elements of heretical views also grew with the Christian faith, yet on the other hand, with Assyrians was differen, for, when they accepted Christ as their Lord and God, they changed at in one decided voice and feeling, so the old traditions of herecy, died there and then, and so, their faith, was the purest one for they never went back to the old customs, yet accepted Christ as was tought to them by the 2 deciples, Mar Toma and Mar Patrous, and by the 2 students of the 72 who were Mar Mari and Mar Addai. as a matter of fact, this was also prophesied by Daniel, when he saw the first beast rising on his hind legs and the HEART OF MAN was given to him, meaning that they would accept Christianity, yet the forth empire (which was not known at that time) had the beast coming from it.if you read history of christianity, from west came all the herecies but our nation was kept safe from these herecies for it had no or hardly any contact with the west after Islam, and before Islam, it had it's position as the first church after the Jureslom one which was the cradle of faith for Christians.
now about the Catholicism:
If you read the revelation, it states there will are 2 women (meaning churchs) one that got hidden by angles in the desert (meaning no water of life and food, which means Assyrian church which was sorounded by moslims) and the other was the WHORE BABYLON (the code name at the time used for the Romans) and that second church, as the revelation says, was on the side of the beast, and had all the glory that an institution in this world would have. Also Christ said "will Son of Man find faith upon his return"? if we explore this question, then we can see that Christ indirectly is talking about the Assyrian Church, for if he meant Christianity at large, then his statement would have been wrong for, the Catholicism has over a billion population so has ortodox faith. so why Christ would ask such a question if he did not mean it about the true and original church, and in another statement he says "the Men of Ninver (or the Mesoptomaians) will rise and jugde this GENERATION.....) and if we look at the sentence, he says, this generation, so whenever you read the bible, this sentance goes for the generation at that time. as Christ said about Mariam Magdaline, when she poured a perfume on his foot, he said "whenever this Mashkhadta is preached, this woman's name and what she did, will also be preached" why he said that, was to mean that whenever the Bible is read, it's message, (including the one about the men of Ninveh) will also be read, heard and accepted according to the time and location. so Men of Ninveh are still judging this generation of christians who is still revealing all their greed, power, attoricities and mislead faith.
Catholicism, has one enemy and that is Assyrians for they are the true voice of Christ. Peter, went to assyrian and came out of our nation, Happy as a Pateriach would be, but when he went to Rome, he was Killed as well as Paul and this reminds of my Lord and God that said about Pharesies and priests of the jews "you blind hypocrite, fix up the graves of the prophets whom were killed by the ones before you, and you say, if we were at the time of our forfathers, we would not have killed them, by this you admit that you are sons of those murderers" so that catholicism that admits about the murder of those two pillars of the church, then they automatically admit that they are sons of those murderers.
so what do you expect from a murderer? Kindness towards our nation which is the original ticket to the salvation?regards,
