I love your passion about our nation and eetan mookhebta
I think I have not made my self clear when it comes to Mar Bawai Soro. before I answer your questions, let me tell you that I go by evidence at hand, for what is not proven yet, I can not and will not talk about it. I will give you an example
I used to PARTIALLY support Mar Bawai, for I had on and on heard his defence all the time and never directly heard him say that he intends to convert us, but when I saw the documents, I sent an email to the ARCTV and asked if Mar Bawai wants to give comment about those documents. I recieved an email back in regards to that, and I watched his interview, in which he DID NOT OPPOSE IT, at that time, all my mind set forth to withdraw my PARTIAL support, as I saw it insulting to my belief and mind to have a bishop that arrogant who thinks it is to my best benefit that I should convert to catholicism. He didnt even consult this intelligent nation as to whom they prefer to have as their leader. That meant to me, that he does not know his position as a bishop, for he is accountable for his actions to this nation more than he is to his pateriarch.but as far as other allegations, such as theft, misappropriation of funds etc, I again, will hold my judgment until the court decides the matter. if it is proven that he has done these things, truely, he does not even deserve to be known as an Assyrian let alone as Mar Bawai or a former Bishop of this holy church and nation.
As for an adultery, you are right that it hurts only that person alone, but that is for a layman and not a man of God who is wearing Jesus Christ, My Lord' position as a guide, as a teacher, as a man whose others salvation rests in the words of his mouth. if you read the Bible, Our Lord and God, did forgive Mary Magdaline from her adultery, Mathew from the position he had as the tax collector, and he even forgave Titus Gayasah on the cross, but not the Pharecees, teachers of the law and their Rabis, and as he said to them "if you were blind you had no fault, but if you admit that you see, then you punishment twice as much".
Again, I say that judgment should be according to the actions and more importantly, on how much the person knew and his responsibility. the higher you are, your fall is harder. so some one like Mar Bawai, if he has done all those, he deserves to be exiled from the face of this holy nation, but in regards to him trying to be arrogant enough to try and creat a plot to convert Assyrian people without their knowledge to our enemies, I think this is an idiotic action but it is not a sin against God, but it is an err made by him according to his intentions thinking that this is the best way for some reason.
Khatie Atouraita, I hope I have made my position clear
