Dear Akhone Fil
You said that a question need to be asked and more so from a scholarly person like me, lol, I know that you are being scarcstic and your questions are to lead to some point (smile) but I welcome your question, for I respect you for your opinion, as I have a lot of your postings.
Qatarasis is originally a greek word. QATha Re Sis (meaning taking the resposibilty of some one from some certain postion that he/she holds in an institution)
we have done a verb on this word which is Gathris, Gothrasa, in aramaic means SHRA or APPEL NASH MEEN AQMEH (which means droping a person from his position)
another verb is ETH GATHRAS (meaning his position taken away from him)
In English it is to DEFROCRefer to the Dictionary of Mar Tooma Odoo page 963
although it was originally Greek word but it has been used as an aramaiec word especially in the religious sector since from time of Christ because at that time the greek language was equal to aramaic language in middleeast.
To your other 4 questions:
a) Youkhana Solaqa (with due respect to Akhonwatan Caldaieh) and Sargis Bkheera two most well known ones
b) Adultery requeires Qatharasis according to our Sonhadous, and (I know whom you are refering to) why it has not been in use, ask our Leaders and do not ask me (smile)
c) If an adulterer has been Qatharasised according to Sonhadous, the answer is NO, he can not hold the title of Mar, but that is if he has been Qatharasised.
d) if imposed, it lasts the lifetime. but it will not stop the person who has been Qatharasised (after repenting) from joining the holy mass (as a layman) and taking blood and body of Christ.I hope I have answered your questions my brother Fil
Regards
