Here comes the mighty and ancient Sumerian Church of the East

One fact, in this church mess, is certain and that is Mar Bawi is out of the Assyrian Church of East. As the judge presiding in the ACOE vs. Mar Bawi declared, the separation of church and state does not allow the American judicial system to interfere with the church’s decision to dispose of its unwanted bishop.

What would happen to poor Mar Bawi now? His best options are:

- To join another church like the Chaldean church. But as we, the one that live and work in the professional world, know that what Mar bawi had done does not look good on his resume and the future employers would not likes to hire a so called “trouble maker” or wristlet blower.

- To form his own church. This is the most likely way to go. The problem with this option is that he would have to differentiate his church from an average Joe’s Catholic church and to be able to compete with the Assyrian Church of the East an the Chaldean Church. To do this, he has to give his church a Mesopotamian ethnic flavor, as the Chaldean church was forced to do so. The Assyrian and Chaldean names are already taken. The only ancient and none Muslim Mesopotamian ethnic name left is Sumerian.

- Mar Bawi can claim the Sumerian heritage, Sumerian were before the Assyrians and Chaldean, and Sumerian started the Mesopotamian civilization.

Creation of the Sumerian Church, however, will create a dilemma for Zowaa. As you know, Zowaa has tried to establish unity among our people in Iraq by creating a new national name. This is how the #####AssyrianSuriao name was invented. Now, for Zowaa to be all inclusive leader of an all inclusive nation, it would have to add the newly created ethnic name to its new national name: The #####AssyrianSuriaoSuemro nation.

Now, this is not a very practical name and we all will be an international joke. I suggest a solution for this dilemma. Let’s keep the Chaldean name, since they are the majority, and abbreviate the other three names and only use their initials. So take the Chaldean word and add “A” to it for Assyrian, add “s” to it for Suriao and anther “s” for Sumerian. The new name will be “ChaldeanAss” or the ChaldeanAss” nation. Wow, what a coincidental name.
