Out of 24, 10 are Assyrians who got charged

Pre-dawn raids in Canada and the U.S. ended in 24 arrests over an alleged drug running operation that took pot to the States and brought cocaine back to Canada.
Eight police agencies from Canada and the U.S. were in on the nearly 10-month-long investigation named Project Masdinero -- which means much money in Spanish.
Police seized 48 kilos of cocaine worth $1.5 million, nearly 550 kg of marijuana worth $3.6 million, and 200 tablets of Ecstasy. More than $400,000 in cash and 14 vehicles were also seized.
"Project Masdinero succeeded in disrupting a lucrative drug operation that used trucks, cars, and boats to transport marijuana produced in Canada across the border into the U.S.," Toronto Police Det.-Sgt. John Decourcy said in a release.
"The proceeds from the sales were then used to purchase cocaine in the U.S. The cocaine was then imported back into Canada using the same methods of transportation," he said.
Charged in Ontario are: *Sarhad Sadiq, 28, David Yang, 23, Pong Yim Cheng, 49, and Mani Jalilvand, 28, all of Richmond Hill; *Maream Ishow, 22, Daniel Pustai, 27, and David Scola, 35, of Woodbridge; Mehdi Vatani, 26, and Paul Sabau, 25, of Toronto; *Salwan Sadiq, 29, and Hassan Abboud, 33, of Vaughan; *George Moshe, 28, of Etobicoke; Ioan Codrea, 44, of Hamilton; *Robert Amanowell, 27, of Maple; Alaa Mutlak Al-Kinani, 38, of Windsor; Yuk Bo Lai, 34, of Markham; *Elias Arabo, 27, of Ontario.
