Michael B,
I noticed a couple contradictions in your posts and I would like you to clarify them, please:
A) First, you said, “I went through (very tediously, might I add) all the paperwork which anyone can view or purchase at the Cook COunty Courthouse. There, you will see that Mar Aprim did not have any sexual relations, he did not committ adultery, and he did not break any of God's rules.”
But then said, “Mar Aprim, unlike Mar Bawai, decided not to abandon the Church when he received a harsh punishment. He was more concerned about the integrity of the Church.”
If Mar Aprim was proven innocent, why was he subjected to punishment (I rather call it discipline) by the Holy Synod to begin with?
Second, you said, “But if you don't believe me, why not listen to your beloved Bishop? Yes, you read that right! Mar Bawai himself wrote an article to Zinda magazine sometime in 2002 or 2003 (feel free to check their archives) that essentially says that he denies the rumours surounding the supposed affair Mar Aprim had. That's right! Mar Bawai himself, after reviewing all the "evidence" several years later, denied the affair.”
But, then you said, “I do find it suspect that the former Bishop had a tumultuous relationship with Mar Aprim, as well as being the only Bishop to vote on Mar Aprim's defrocking.”
Why would the ex-bishop write to zibla tabloid denying any wrong doing by Mar Aprim, but at the same time have tumultuous relationship with him? In his letters to the Holy Synod, ex-bishop does not exactly hide his resentments toward Mar Aprim, and claimed the Synod was harsher on him than it has been on Mar Aprim.
Thank you
Shamiram
