It mattered then when the Assyrian fighters would have been distinguished by not wearing kur.ish clothes.In this manner to outsiders all those fighters were portrayed as kur.s,that's where the difference would have been important to be known, that they were not kur.s but Assyrian fighters.Alas,now it doesn't matter any more.

They didn't need marine uniforms either,their day to day clothes would have sufficed,but it was all part of the bigger game.

As for the PKK they are just like their counterparts.
