In Response To: Re: Ehyah= I am, Ashur= God, Ehyah=I am" (George)

---Sorry to burst your bubble but it's the same exact thing in Hebrew. I've asked knowledgeable people on this myself.

Here's some useful information:

"I Will Be...
Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh in Hebrew. This is a Divine Name (Shevuoth 35a), and it is therefore not translated by the Targum. It denotes that God has absolute existence (Moreh Nevukhim 1:63; cf. Septuagint), and that He is outside the realm of time (Sforno). According to the Kabbalists, this Name denotes the Crown (Kether) of creation, that is, the very first thought and impulse of Will that initiated the creative process. Hence it is 'I will be,' since at the time of that impulse, everything was in the future. This first thought is identified with the idea of Israel (Bereshith Rabbah 1:5; Berakhoth 6a; Tikkuney Zohar 17a; see God Man and Tefillin, p. 35 ff.). This name was revealed now that God was about to create the nation Israel.

-From Hebrew Torah Bible Ort Commentary

---This commentary corresponds with what one would find on the word "Asharru" which is ancient Assyrian (sometimes called Akkadian). Ashur is literally, the beginner and the beginning...actually, even beyond the beginning. This commentary states that Ashur is "outside the realm" of time.

---Changing "Ashur" to "that" or "which" is corrupting the meaning. This is what the enemies of this name have been doing in order to change this belief into some white man's religion.

---"Irtumta," or pronunciation may differ but when actual consonants (and letters in general) are the same, it doesn't matter how one pronounces it. You can say "Malka" or "Malko" or "Malika" (small emphasis on the "i" sound) but if it is spelled Meem-Lamadh-Cap-Alap then it is the same. The only time one runs into problems is when one sees two words spelled exactly the same but with no vowel marks. In that case, one will know by the context of the reading what the word's meaning is or whether it is singular or plural.

Thus, if you see Alap-Sheen-Resh, it doesn't matter if it is transliterated and/or pronounced as "Asher" or "Ashor" or "Ashur." You will know via context and direct experience with the language and its accompanying culture (and idioms) what the meaning is. When referring to "God," many spell "Ashur" with only those three letters. When referring to a human, many spell "Ashur" with four letters (actually three consonants and one vowel) as Alap-Sheen-Wow-Resh. This actually goes back to ancient thought. You can find it in some ancient Assyrian texts as well as the Kabballah thought (Qabil Allah).
