A dot under the "Beith" will make it a "W" sound. As I said, there is no difference between the W/V and it is merely a matter of whether or not you've been raised using the softer sounding V. Typically, a majleeyana is not used under the "Beith" but it could mean a "V." This rule has not been agreed upon and will not be agreed upon b/c most Assyrian language teachers see it as I stated above (a matter of soft/hard - V or W).
A dot under the beith is used typically in scenarios where a BDOL (Beith-Dalath-Waw-Lamadh) letter precedes it. It is a style of speaking and writing Assyrian (used till now in the Church) and is only one style - there are several. For example, dalath'beith-yudh-taw (d'beith) is read: d'weith. The dalath (a BDOL letter) softens the letter in front of it. Not all letters can be softened though. The ones that can are: Beith, Gamal, Dalath, Kap, and Taw. Pe can be recognized as one of the letters that can be softened but in the BDOL scenario it has never been softened in Assyrian grammar. As I stated in the other post, it is softened (Fe) automatically in the Western Dialect and a BDOL letter before it or a mark under it will harden it into a "Pe."
This language is the most powerful language there is by far. I know and/or have studied several languages and none of them can touch Assyrian language. Its alphabet is extremely powerful and very versatile. Its grammar is extensive but logical. It can be the most poetic language on earth. He who masters this language can master any language. It is the root of all language. It is one of a kind.
