I'm not completely understanding what this video is saying, although I have to say I'm dissapointed in what Mar Narsai was saying. I MAY BE TAKING WHAT HE SAID OUT OF CONTEXT BECAUSE I HAVE NOT SEEN THE ENTIRE VIDEO SO FORGIVE ME, but based on what he just said, he has put his faith in the Church of the East, and not God, there is a difference.
The Church of the East is an eeydta(denomination), and not the only one at that. If we are Christians (followers of Christ) it means that we have been saved from hell because of what Jesus did on the cross, not by what eeydta we are a part of.
1. If Mar Narsai is a true Christian, it wouldn't matter if there was a Church of the East or not, all Christians are saved by Faith in what Jesus Christ did on the cross, everything else doesn't matter, and they're pious life of following Christ will prove that they are true Christians.
2. OF COURSE THERE WILL BE ASSYRIANS IN HEAVEN, UH DUH! "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16); "...[God talking to Abraham] and through your offspring [Jesus] all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me."(Genesis 22:19)
AND DON"T YOU DARE FORGET ONE OF MY PERSONAL FAVORITE VERSES!
"In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria. the Assyrians will go to Egypt and the Egyptians to Assyria, The Egyptians and Assyrians will worship together. In that day Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria, A BLESSING ON THE EARTH. The LORD [YAHWEH] Almighty will bless them saying, 'Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria my handiwork, and Israel my inheritance.'" (Isaiah 19:23-25)
God (Yahweh) loves us and wants to save us, and indeed He will save Assyrians, Mar Narsai can take comfort in that. But the problem is Mar Narsai is choosing not to go to Heaven if there isn't a Church of the East, well he fails to see that there are many churches that make up one big Body of Christ. Secondly, WE DO NOT CHOOSE TO GO TO HEAVEN, GOD DECIDES OUR DESTINY. But we know that when we have faith in Jesus Christ, HE WILL TAKE US TO HEAVEN because of that.
Mar Narsai has no say where he goes, he can only make a decision that will lead him to a final destination. His words were not biblical and pardon me, but also ridiculous. He can choose the ways of the evil world which would lead him to hell, or he can choose Christ which will lead him to the Father up in Heaven, "I am the Way the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father but by Me."(John 14:6)
