Is there a settlement in work for the ACOE Vs Mar Bawi case?
My sources close to the Mar Bawi camp are saying that a settlement is being discussed between Mar Bawi and ACOE reps. The negotiation is, most likely, being conducted in Australia, and involves the payoff of some money to Mar Bawi, and the removal of the so called "Makleta" label from his name. "Makleta" is the the limbo state before a person is excommunicated. The removal of the "Makleta" label will make it easier for Mar Bawi to join other churches.
In return, Mar Bawi would return the church properties control to ACOE, and accept his dismissal from ACOE.
However, my sources, close to ACOE, categorically deny that any settlement is being discussed.
They say that these rumors were started by the the Mar Bawi camp as test balloon, to test the water, and suggest and influence a possible settlement.
These sources, also believe that the secondary reason for starting these rumors, might be, to make Mar Bawi supporters believe that there is a light at the end of tunnel, and they should not give up.
I believe the sooner this problem is solved in a satisfactory way, the sooner we can start uniting again. Lets hope we all can put this bind us soon.
