Shamiram Daniali,
“The most pressing question at this time is how could a judge, who claims has read everything presented to him by both parties, disregard Soro’s own confessions and give him even an hour of control of any church!”
*** This question has baffled the church’s attorneys as well. This is a well-drafted brief and the church’s attorneys presented the case well. I am of the same opinion as I was when I read this judge’s order. Judges are not perfect and like any human being they may make mistakes. That is the reason there is an appellate process.
Judges are also influenced by external forces. Based on what I have seen so far, this judge has ignored the evidence and the arguments of the church’s attorneys. He may have been influenced by external influences such as the petitions in support of Soro, which may have given him an impression that Soro has a wide support. Furthermore, Zowaa’s thugs created an uneasy environment in and out of the courthouse, which may have given this judge an impression that if he does not “split the baby”, there will be severe ramifications.
Again, we have to emphasis that this is a temporary order. Furthermore, preliminary injunctions are very difficult to obtain. Also, the church’s attorneys have many options such as appealing this judge’s decision. This is not over. It is just the beginning.
